You can use a Veritas Wonder Pup anywhere you can drill a 19mm hole. Veritas Wonder Pups are basically bench dogs with a length of threaded bar through the top, with a swivel handle at one end and brass clamping face at the other. The Wonder Pups have a 70mm long stem fitted with an O-ring, which slightly raises the threaded bar just above the bench surface for easier adjustment. The projection above the bench is only 16mm. The Wonder Pup stem, drilled and tapped with at 3°, ensures that work is held tight to the bench. The brass clamping face is 50mm x 13mm. All that is required to mount a Wonder Pup is a 19mm hole. These hugely versatile bench top fittings, come in very handy for all sorts of jig and homemade clamping devices. Use for: surface clamping in place of a tail vice, mounted on a wooden beam as a bar clamp, holding or clamping curved work, jig making, securing odd shapes and general bench work.
