Twin flute straight cutters are by far the most commonly used router cutter. They have many uses cutting grooves, rebates, housings or dadoes etc. Twin flute straight cutters are also a good choice for shallow mortices, such as hinge recesses. When selecting cutters always choose the shortest cutter that will give the depth you require. Shorter bits minimise vibration, cut cleaner and give a longer tool life.
