The jaws are robust aluminium alloy on a 20 mm x 6 mm steel bar. These die-cast jaws are capable of applying substantial pressure to the workpiece. Squeezing the handle advances the moving jaw. The spring-loaded face is slightly angled so its top touches first as the jaws close. As pressure is applied, the spring compresses to ensure even pressure distribution.
