For professional woodturners and dedicated home turners, our heavy duty live centre is designed to meet all your needs. This centre is both robust and versatile, whatever your project or ambitions this centre has it covered. It’s manufactured in our facility in Axminster the removable nose cone is aircraft grade aluminium, whilst the rest of the body, Morse taper and interchangeable 60° tip are stainless steel. No matter how much green timber you turn, corrosion isn’t going to be a problem. At the heart of the Deluxe Centre is a double row angular contact bearing, chosen for its capability to take substantial radial and axial loads. This bearing is backed up by a second high quality deep groove bearing for extra support. In use, the tip rotates whilst the body remains stationary, making it safer to use and offering greater confidence for delicate work. Removing the nose cone reveals a useful ring centre and a standard 3/4" " x 16tpi thread. This common thread size allows the fitting of small faceplates and many other woodturning accessories. For even greater versatility the 60° stainless steel tip is removable and can be replaced with one of the optional tips.
